Productivity Hack – How to Deal with Admin Tasks

Spoke to a friend today. She owns a language school.

She has 2 employees…

but she still feels so overwhelmed with the admin tasks.

I asked her, ‘Why don’t you ask your staff to help you with the admin tasks?’

She said, ‘The admin tasks are really easy to do.

It’s better for me to do myself.

It takes more time for me to train them…

And even when I train them, I need to spend time checking their work…

And sometimes their work is wrong, and they’ll have to waste time doing it again…

It makes me nervous.’

When I’m doing my work, sometimes I think the same…

I might as well do the admin work myself…

So I can avoid wasting time when people do it wrong, and I don’t have to spend time giving instructions.

The thing is, time is a limited commodity.

We only have 24 hours a day…

Once I spend time on an admin task, I can’t spend more time thinking creatively and strategizing on how to make more money.

Also, once I train others to do it – sure, they make mistakes in the first few times, but afterwards, they will make less and less mistakes…

And one day, you’ll spend less and less time checking their work and giving feedback.

I just had to be patient and understand everyone needs time to learn.
